Dear Customers, Sweeney's Sports will be closed on Sundays, starting this Sunday, February 26th.
We made a team decision to give all of us here more time to spend with our families and enjoy the outdoors.
We also wanted to have more time for fishing, hunting, and shooting sports. The more we practice, the more hands-on knowledge we'll have to serve you better.
Starting in March, Sweeney's Sports will open at 7 am on Saturdays to help you get on the water earlier with the right bait and tackle.
The new store hours are as follows:
Monday 9am-6pm
Tuesday 9am-6pm
Wednesday 9am-6pm
Thursday 9am-6pm
Friday 9am-6pm
Saturday 7am-6pm - Starting in March (9-6 this Saturday).

Trinity River Fishing Report
The Trinity continues to fish great. The weather is perfect up north right now. There is a good amount of fish in the system. Some moving up and some are on their way back down.
We are looking at some rain and snow later this week. Which typically means better fishing!! If you’re planning to head up before the weather I recommend fishing the deep runs after riffles. When the sun is out those fish tend to hide out in deeper water.
Typical steelhead flies have been working well. Floating the river in a drift boat is the best option to cover the most water in a day. If you’re looking to float the Trinity we have a little over a month of steelhead season left. Contact me to book the trip.

Congratulations to Brent Hebb and Paco on a Successful Hunt!
Last Sunday, Brent and his friend Paco hunted Wooden Valley before sunrise.
As Brent crested a steep rise he noticed a movement in his peripheral vision and then saw the Big Sow.
The sow was at the top of his bow range, but Paco carried a riffle. As Paco took a shot the sow charged straight at them.
Luckily, Brent still had his bow at the ready, and brought down the charging sow with an arrow only 5 yards from his position!
Whew.
