Running a local fishing retail shop today isn’t easy — and we’re not here to pretend it is. Tackle shops are closing all around us. No one seems to have figured out how to survive — let alone thrive. It’s a helluva puzzle.

But we’re not giving up. Not even close.

Mr. Sweeney’s Experience is our way of pulling back the curtain on what it really takes to make a small retail shop work in 2025. We’re inviting you behind the scenes at Sweeney’s Sports, where we’ll share the real challenges, hard-won lessons, and the daily chaos — including sunglasses debates and customer curveballs.

We’re lucky to have an amazing team — a crew of passionate, hard-working characters who aren’t in this for the money. They show up every day because they care about this community. And now, it’s time for them to take the spotlight.They’ll educate you, entertain you, and maybe even surprise you.

But this isn’t just about us.We’re doing this for you — our community, our customers, and fellow Main Street business owners.
