Napa River – Striper Bite Heating Up
Cooler fall mornings and dropping water temps are firing up the striped bass bite on the Napa River. Anglers are reporting solid action around high tide, with pile worms and grass shrimp leading the way for bait fishing, while swimbaits and rattletraps are producing hookups for those casting. If you are trolling, Golden hue Spro's Aruku Shad 75 and Wild Thing lures are the ticket.
Lake Berryessa – Trout & Bass
As surface temps cool, rainbow trout are starting to move up in the water column, with trolling spoons and nightcrawlers doing the trick. Largemouth and smallies are transitioning into fall patterns, feeding along points and drop-offs — soft plastics and crankbaits have been the top producers. Expect the bite to stay steady as we move deeper into October.
