Napa Outdoor Digest - August 31st, 2023

Thank you to everyone who participated and voted in our August Catch of The Month contest. We had a lot of fantastic submissions. Jackson, however, took down the Win and is now Sweeney's Angler of the Month for the month of August.

Jackson, stop by the shop and pick up your gift card! Congratulations buddy.

We are doing this again in September! Please tag @sweeneys_sports on your fishing pictures and become Sweeney's Angler of the Month in September. $30 gift card for the winner.

We had a busy week this week, picking through thousands of products and ordering inventory for the shop at the Worldwide show in Reno, NV. On Tuesday, we asked for your help in voting for some potential products we should carry in the shop on Sweeney's Facebook and Instagram. Hundreds of you voted! Thank you kindly for taking the time to help us curate our product selection for you.

However, we have also received feedback from some of you who are not very active on social media. You have asked for another way to participate and share your opinion. Below, you will find pictures and descriptions of some of the items we would like to get your feedback on.

Simply comment on this blog with any feedback you have. Pictures or no pictures, let us know what you want us to carry. Your opinion is very important to us, as we only exist to serve you. We now have a fairly sophisticated technology that helps us determine what to order, in what quantity, and when. However, no matter how sophisticated the technology is, it will never replace the voice of our customers. Make yours heard. Please.

Will you help us by casting your vote?

Comment with any feedback.

Last Friday Alex took a $500 charter on Salty Lady to fish for Bluefin Tuna 25 miles outside of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Please watch this video to get a sense of what it's like to fish for Bluefin Tuna here in NorCal.

"5 Things I Learned Fishing for NorCal Bluefin Tuna."

Thinking about fishing for Bluefin Tuna? Stop by the shop to get outfitted. We now have Rods, Reels, Line, Lures, and the knowledge to help you explore this exciting new fishery.

Look forward to a lot more Bluefin content and gear.

Alex ordered a Halo 20 Simrad Radar paired up with Lowrance Elite FS9 Display for his 21 ft North River. Once it is installed next week (he'll be doing the install video), he plans on doing weekly Bluefin trips (weather permitting).

Do you want to take your own boat Bluefin fishing? We are looking to build a small Napa area-based Bluefin fleet/community and run a few boats at a time for company and safety. If interested in joining, send us an email at with your contact info or talk to Alex/Shane at the shop.

Thank you for reading. See you next week.
