Gun Consignment in Napa, CA
If you need to sell your firearms collection or a single gun here in Napa, CA or online, Sweeney's Sports is happy to help. We have customers all over the Greater Bay Area looking for used firearms. Most consignment firearms sell fast, but just like anything else, it's all about demand and supply. It is still very much a seller's market.
We have a simple 5-step consignment process:

Step 1: Schedule an appointment with one of our gun shop experts.
Step 2: Receive preliminary appraisal.
Step 3: Sign a consignment agreement and fill out the required paperwork.
Step 4: Our team begins marketing your firearm
Step 5: Get paid once your firearm sells and is picked up by the buyer

Scope Installation and Upgrades
Sweeney's Sports team of firearms experts is able to recommend, install, and bore sight a perfect scope for your rifle.
You'll find a wide selection of optics in stock at the shop. If you purchase a scope from us, we'll install and bore sight at no additional cost.

The following fee schedule is for scopes purchased elsewhere:

FFL TRANSFERS
As a licensed California Firearms Dealer, Sweeney's Sports is happy to help with firearms and ammunition transfers.
This means that customers are able to purchase firearms and ammo elsewhere, including licensed internet dealerships, and have it shipped to our store.

These transfers are called FFL Transfers. All firearms must be 100% California Complaint, with no exceptions. Please make sure the gun you are transferring complies by reviewing the Roster of Certified Handguns: https://www.oag.ca.gov/firearms/certified-handguns/search

Sweeney's Sports will receive and process your firearm, prepare paperwork, check all the required documentation and complete the transaction.

PPT Transfers
Sweeney's Sports is happy to assist you with transferring a firearm to another party, known as PPT or Private Party Transfer. Please note we conduct Private Party Transfers only on Wednesdays and Sundays. On both of these days, we are purpose-staffed to assist you and answer all of your questions. If you have more than 3 firearms, an appointment is required. Please call 707-255-5544 to schedule your Multiple Firearms PPT appointment.
Please review the details below for paperwork and documentation requirements. If the required paperwork is missing at the time of the transaction, you'll need to make another appointment to complete the transfer.
PPT REQUIREMENTS
BUYER - Documents
• CA Drivers License or I.D. Card (If you don’t have the real ID, a passport or birth certificate must be provided.
• If you are transferring a HANDGUN, a Firearm Safety Card, Concealed Carry Permit, or Law Enforcement ID must be provided.
• If you are transferring a LONG GUN, a Firearm Safety Card, Hunting License, Concealed Carry Permit, or Law Enforcement ID must be provided.
• If you are transferring a HANDGUN, a second proof of address is needed. Acceptable documents include DMV Car Registration, City Water Bill, City Garbage Bill, CA Hunting/ Fishing License or Concealed Carry Permit.
• If you are transferring a LONG GUN and your address is current on your CA DL, no second proof of address is needed. If your address is NOT current on your CA DL, refer to the list of acceptable documents above.
SELLER - Documents
• CA Drivers License or I.D. Card (If you don’t have the real ID, a passport or birth certificate must be provided.
• If your address is NOT current you’ll need to provide a DMV Car Registration, City Water Bill, City Garbage Bill, CA Hunting/ Fishing License or Concealed Carry Permit.
Firearm Requirements
• The firearm must be legal to possess in the state of California.
• No magazine >10 rounds can be transferred.
• Handguns can NOT have threaded barrels.
• AR-15’s or similar “Black Rifle” configurations must be CA Legal (No converting is legal on store premises).
• No AR Pistols will be accepted for transfer
Private Party Transfer Policy
• If the buyer is denied, the seller must pick-up the firearm within 5 days of denial. If a firearm is not picked up within 5 days of denial there will be a $5/ Per 1 day storage fee.
• If the buyer is denied and the seller is prohibited from owning/ possessing firearms, the guns will be dropped off at the Napa Police Department.
• If the buyer “Times Out” and wants to resubmit the background check, the seller must come back to the shop and sign the new submission paperwork.
